Each state imposes unique regulations and requirements regarding supervision hours, eligible supervisors, exams, and other criteria. Notably, in Arizona, Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) can supervise up to 50 hours for both Licensed Master Social Workers (LMSWs) and Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapists (LAMFTs) in our practice. Furthermore, we can supervise the whole 100 hours for LISAC with approval from the board. Otherwise up to 50 hours for other qualified practitioners. We also provide clinical consultation services for various license types in Arizona. It is crucial to meticulously track your hours and seek the necessary guidance to ensure the best possible care for your clients.
LCSW
Obtaining LCSW supervision in Arizona necessitates logging 50 hours under the guidance of a licensed LCSW, while the remaining 50 hours can be completed under the supervision of an equally qualified licensed practitioner.
LMFT
In Arizona, LMFT supervision requires 50 hours with an LMFT or LPC approved AMFT, and the other 50 hours under supervision of an equally qualified licensed professional.
LISAC
To fulfill LISAC supervision requirements in Arizona, 50 hours must be logged with an LIAC or LPC, while the remaining 50 hours can be completed under the supervision of a licensed practitioner of equivalent qualifications.

For those in Arizona, we provide online group and dyadic/triadic supervision opportunities for LPC's, LCSW's, LMFT's, & LISAC's. While our supervision groups cover a wide range of topics, our Arizona-approved clinical supervisor specializes in various areas where you can acquire valuable knowledge. It's essential to remember that LPCs can only log triadic supervision hours if they are part of groups with 3 or fewer provisionally-licensed therapists. Similarly, LCSWs, LMFTs, and LISACs are only eligible to count dyadic supervision hours if working with 2 provisionally-licensed therapists. Additionally, LISAC group supervision allows for 75 hours with dyadic sessions and 50 hours within groups of 3 or more provisionally-licensed therapists.
If you are an independent LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or LISAC, we offer group consultation. Our groups are offered online.
Arizona offers one-on-one supervision for those who thrive with individualized care. This option is beneficial for personal growth and provides specific supervision for specific needs, even if group consultations are needed in the future.
If you require clinical guidance directly from a clinical supervisor, Journey of Wellness Counseling & Consulting is here to assist. We provide virtual peer consultation groups to facilitate connections and learning among therapists in the field.
Although groups are beneficial for some individuals, each person has unique learning preferences. Engaging in one-on-one consultations with a supervisor can cater to your specific needs effectively. Our tailored approach ensures personalized support to address your individual requirements.
